Hi Guys, This is the first year that I have not made a New Year Resolution. I have sort of decided to follow my instincts because they are usually right and lead me to a much better place in life. I feel happy healthy and so grateful to have made it to another year. I know that I am young and that to some it might sound a bit crazy to be grateful that I made it to another year but...
The truth is that life is short and at times it can be unpredictable. So I make it my priority to live in the now and to make the best of every opportunity and moment in my life. I no longer think about the mistakes or things that I could've changed in the past because it's impossible to do. Also while I do admit that I think of the future, I also think about improving helping others and myself now. A friend sent me an article in which the Dalai Lama XIV who is someone that I look up to.
He says and quote, " Man surprised me most about humanity. Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money.
Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived.”
― Dalai Lama XIV
After reading that article, I felt as if something ticked in my head. It was my Aha Moment! He is so right and this is so true. Sadly most of us live our life in a way which I would describe as a robot and we might think that we are living but in reality some of us are just existing. Isn't that an awful way to live your life? I think so. Wouldn't want to spend the rest of your life doing things that make you happy and that make a real difference in this world? I know, I do. We are so blessed to live in a world age of advanced technology and this allows us to not only be open to so many opportunities but it has brought about one of the quickest ways to communicate with our family and friends, as well as connecting with other people online. It's because of this that many people have been able to find financial freedom and be able to focus on what we really want to do in life. I hope that you too are inspired by the quote from the Dalai Lama XIV.
